Roundtables and seminars

The International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP) organizes regular Regional Roundtables with the view of gathering information at the regional level on the challenges and dilemmas of humanitarian action. The primary objective of these meetings is to facilitate exchanges among professionals at the regional level on the dominant challenges from a regional perspective, and to propose avenues for reflection. The first of these Regional Roundtables took place in Nairobi in October 2010 with the goal of engaging professionals from East Africa in the preparation of the 2012 PHAP Congress, especially in terms of identification of topics and panelists.

Regional Roundtables are organized for PHAP members, who will meet regularly in each region via these gatherings. Participants can join the meetings onsite at the designated location, or online, depending on connectivity. Topics for the Regional Roundtables are identified in a dialogue with concerned members. PHAP produces short unattributed reports of the discussions to be made available on its website.
