Committees and Interest Groups
Members of the International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP) are encouraged to establish interest groups on key issues or challenges to humanitarian action.
By creating and participating in such groups, PHAP members are contributing to enhancing the life of the professional community. An important moment in the life of the PHAP Committees and Interest Groups will be the World Congress on Humanitarian Assistance and Protection in the course of which Committees’ Members will be given the possibility of presenting their work and reflections to the larger professional networks and institutions, and to recruit new interested participants. PHAP as an organization does not advocate for particular topics or policies, nor does it intend to take positions on the work of these Committees. Equally, it will not formally endorse or support positions discussed in these Committees. Its role will be to maintain basic internal records of the discussions, ensuring the focus of the groups on humanitarian action, and ensure the compliance of the Committees with professional ethics and respect among members.
The first Committees are planned to be launched in the course of 2012.
