Consultation report available for the Operational Camp Management webinar

Read the consultation event report for the PHAP and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster webinar that took place on 23 September

Following the PHAP and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster webinar that took place on 23 September 2019 on the draft Camp Management Standards, the consultation report is now publicly available.

The CCCM Cluster set out to harmonize benchmarks and set standards that measure the outcome of tasks directly carried out by camp management teams. This process to develop Camp Management Standards began in 2017, and following a series of on-site consultation, the CCCM Cluster partnered with PHAP to carry out online consultations for stakeholders globally so that they could provide their input and help refine the standards.

The first step involved an interactive webinar, which took the form of an expert panel discussion with active participation from attendees via chat, Q&A, and live polls, together with a survey with both general questions about the standards and an opportunity to provide detailed comments on the text.

With over 500 event registrants and close to 450 survey respondents, who provided their input on the scope and purpose of the standards and also commented on the content of the draft Standards, this formed a very rich material for improving the Standards further.

The post-event consultation report includes two main components:
An overview of the results to the first survey section, dealing with overarching questions regarding the purpose and scope of the standards.
The results of the second survey section, which was an opportunity for respondents to provide input directly on the draft standards.

The report also includes a transcript of the webinar and the follow-up Q&A with the speakers.

This report will be used by the CCCM Cluster as they work on the next draft of the Camp Management Standards, but will also be of interest to anyone engaged in policy questions related to camp management.

If you missed the event, you can also find video recordings and an audio podcast version on the event page.
