Introduction to the Climate Charter – recording now available

Recap on the introductory webinar for the ICVA and PHAP Learning Stream on Climate Change and Humanitarian Action

On 30 September, International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) and PHAP launched the Learning Stream on Climate Change and Humanitarian Action with a webinar introducing the recently launched Climate and Environment Charter for Humanitarian Organizations.

During this event, participants had the chance to hear from Nishanie Jayamaha, Learning and Programme Coordinator at ICVA, who also sits on the Charter’s advisory committee. She introduced the learning stream and how it relates to the Charter, highlighting the need for humanitarian organizations to be part of transformative action in the face of the current climate and environmental crises. Amir Khouzam, Policy Advisor at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provided participants with a brief outline of the Charter, emphasizing the need for NGOs to design programs and interventions while looking forward and ensuring that they are resilient and climate smart.

If you missed this event, you are now able to access the video and audio podcast format recordings of the discussion on the event page
