Missions and Mandates
Adebayo currently works as a Senior Legal Officer and head of the Protection, Human Rights and Gender cluster of AMISOM. In this capacity, he acts as General Counsel for the Mission- providing professional guidance on all legal issues confronting the Mission, including leading the Protection and Human Rights cluster of the Mission.
He previously worked with the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in Kosovo as Appeals Counsel, in which capacity he handled all appeals the Mission was involved with at the Supreme Court of Kosovo. Prior to that he had worked as an International Prosecutor in the same Mission prosecuting such complex cases as War Crime, Human and People Trafficking, Murder etc.
Immediately before, he had worked as a Solicitor-Advocate with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in London England between 2004-2010 and was a Human Rights Lawyer with Noden & Company Solicitors also in London. He also had extensive legal practice experience in Nigeria between 1994 and 2000.
Adebayo is a Barrister and Solicitor of Nigeria and Solicitor-Advocate of the England and Wales. He holds a Masters Degree in Law from the Inns of Courts School of Law London and also a Masters in Business Administration. He has extensive experience in Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Protection of Civilian, Conduct of Conflict , Human Rights Law etc. He also has extensive facilitation and presentation experience in the areas to senior military and police officers in Africa.
